  Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution

Conflict resolution is the creation of a win/win result, and does not always mean that opposites disagree.

 

Many conflicts occur when people share the same personality style. In those situations they magnify their strengths to the degree that those gifts become liabilities. They find they “cannot see the forest for the trees”.

Conflict

  • Occurs when a person feels and/or thinks they are being asked to compromise
  • Happens whenever a person thinks and/or feels that they are going to lose
  • Is triggered by an emotional reaction to the scenarios above
  • Is the difference between what we want to happen; what we believe should happen; and what actually does happen

1.  Structural – Organizational

2.  Interpersonal – People Issues

  • Jealous

The Common Conflict Behaviors exhibited by each personality color are:

  • The RED personality will become more “Forceful”
  • The ORANGE personality will be overly “Accommodating”
  • A GREEN personality will demonstrate “Avoidance
  • A YELLOW personality will exhibit signs of “Collaborating”
